The weekend at the Days of European Film once again belonged to children. On Saturday at Kino Světozor and on Sunday at Edison Filmhub, the cinema shifted after the screening into a space where watching was joined by making.
Grandma’s Fairy Tales brought a gentle, sensitive story that stayed with the children after the film ended. It was followed by animation workshops prepared in collaboration with Free Cinema.
Tables filled with paper, crayons, scissors and stop-motion cameras. Children drew characters, assembled simple scenes and within minutes began testing how images come to life. Concentration alternated with laughter; ideas took shape directly under their hands. In an open, relaxed atmosphere, everyone found their own pace and their own story. For some, a first encounter with animation; for others, perhaps a direction to follow.
For a while, the cinemas became film laboratories, and the audience became filmmakers.
