European Film Days and Cinergy are bringing a masterclass with Cristian Travaglioli, one of the most prominent European film editors of our time. Travaglioli has long been involved in the creation of Paolo Sorrentino's films, and it is his work that significantly shapes their rhythm, atmosphere and narrative style.
As part of DEF, we are paying tribute to his work and at the same time offering a meeting that will introduce editing as an independent creative discipline. Travaglioli will talk about working with film material, finding the right pace, the role of music and how the final shape of a film is created in collaboration with the director.
The masterclass is intended for students, film professionals and all viewers who want to gain an insight into the process of filmmaking from the perspective of the editing room and better understand what determines the power of the cinematic experience.
Tickets for the masterclass only –
purchase for 180 CZK.
Tickets for the film Milost only –
purchase for 230 CZK.
Tickets for both the masterclass and the film –

We invite all senior viewers to special festival screenings with discounted admission. From this year’s programme we have selected three remarkable titles.
Milost, screening at Kino Světozor on 13 April at 15:00, is an intimate and deeply human drama about forgiveness, dignity and the quiet strength people discover when life tests them the most. A film that relies on strong performances and a calm, reflective storytelling style.
Mládí, also directed by the Oscar-winning filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino, will be screened at Bio Central (date to be announced). This visually stunning and gently ironic meditation on aging, memory and friendship unfolds in Sorrentino’s unmistakable style – elegant images, measured tempo and moments of subtle humor.
Julian, screening at Edison Filmhub on 13 April at 14:00, is a sensitive portrait of childhood seen through the eyes of a young boy navigating the tensions of the adult world. With its restrained storytelling and emotional precision, the film builds a powerful impact from everyday moments.
Come and enjoy outstanding European cinema along with the unique atmosphere of the festival.
